Mr. Green Guy On the Go (as he likes to mock) finally makes an appearance on the blog. Check out 3 of his favorite cleaner and less toxic personal care items for the men in your life. I will caveat that these men’s personal care items are not 100% organic and still have just a few ingredients that I’m not down with but hey, it’s a solid start and way better than the conventional shit he used to use, so I’ll take it! That’s why I SO wanted him to share with you guys. I think these are such easy swaps your boyfriends, husbands, brothers, etc can do without feeling overwhelmed or like they are using stuff that doesn’t get the job done.
Now, take it away hubz…
When @daniontheloose asked me to write a post, I had no idea what to do (maybe this was eight months ago – maybe it wasn’t). She could certainly be described as a health freak and I’m, well, not. But I do appreciate her passion for health and wellness which has subsequently rubbed off on me in a lot of ways. Now I’m no Gossling but here are some products on the cleaner side that I’ve come to enjoy –
3 Cleaner Men’s Personal Care Items
Every Man Jack – Citrus Body Wash
This is the best body wash I eva had. It smells fantastic, contains these scrub particle things called jojoba beads – which are and sound cool IMO, and is naturally derived. Said scrub particles wash off clean and this body wash doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry. Someone at Starbucks even said I smell good the other day. Thanks, girl.
Towel Dry – Clay Styler
I used a seven-pound bottle of booger green LA Looks hair gel circa 5th grade. A substance which can only be described as goop. It was gross and has honestly frightened me from ever putting anything else in my hair. I could have cut glass with those tips. I recently overcame my fear and added this clay styler to my bag. A little goes a long way here giving you control of your mane sans looking like you have goop on your head.
Native Deodorant – Citrus & Herbal Musk
I’ve been an Old Spice deodorant guy since I blossomed into a young man. It’s all I knew for a very long time, but it and a lot of common deodorants contain aluminum, parabens, yada yada yada that aren’t too great health wise. There’s debate regarding aluminum and it’s potentially harmful effects, but I’d rather not take that risk on the reg. However, the alternative of a “natural deodorant” just doesn’t sound very effective. Side note – for some reason I think of hippies piling out of a Volkswagen for a Phish show when I hear the words “natural deodorant.” Idk.
There is one brand in the natural category that I’ve found to work – Native. It smells great, lasts all day, and looks/feels like a regular deodorant just without the chemicals. They also offer free shipping if you sign up for their subscription option and you can change your delivery date at any time. I don’t miss stopping at CVS after work for only deodorant while the lady in front of me at checkout has a shopping cart filled with Neutrogena, or maybe it’s Maybelline, and is armed with twenty-five coupons.
Crystals –
Just kidding…maybe next time. Need tho.
Go on now and be influenced. Sorry for breaking the internet.

Disclaimer: I was not compensated by any of these brands, but if they somehow see this, sup?
