20 Ways To Start Using Essential Oils

March 27, 2021

doterra easy starter kit for working women | 20 Ways To Start Using Essential Oils

One of my main healthy lifestyle ESSENTIALS (yes, we’re getting punny over here at Dani On The Loose) are essential oils.

I know, I know- you may be thinking, “what witch craft potions is she about to push our way?” But, hear me out. The way I understand them, in their simplest form, is the pure nutrients distilled, extracted, and pressed out of different plants, barks, seeds, roots, and flowers all holding varying historical, natural healing properties.

When taken internally, applied topically, or diffused into the air, your body is able to absorb and soak up all these aromas and nutrients quicker than eating and digesting- similar to the benefits of drinking cold pressed green juices that send vitamins & minerals straight to your bloodstream rather than requiring the body’s digestive system to break down a whole salad first.

Essential Oils are detoxifying, antibacterial, antiviral, mood boosting, and more.

They can be used as aromatherapy, personal care, and as natural medicine treatments. So, where and how can you start to stock your medicine cabinet with these? There are many reputable companies out there, Doterra being one of them and my own personal favorite. I specifically like them for the quality, the blends they carry, and the results I’ve seen firsthand. I also trust this company even more after seeing a number of functional medicine doctors use them in their practices.

I feel like no one is really talking about this… I feel like no one is really talking about this…

so I just wanted to say that if spironolactone (a medication originally meant to treat things like heart failure and high blood pressure) is not the “miracle drug” for your hormonal acne that you were promised, you are NOT ALONE.

I’ve been in your shoes. 👞

And I’ve heard this over and over again from other women.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but if you h I don’t know who needs to hear this but if you have a “gut feeling” deep inside you that your acne is from something off internally, I’m telling you- TRUST YOUR GUT.

It’s your second brain and intuition is no joke. The body is a crazy smart biocomputer. And with skin conditions, it’s sending you a big fat message to listen to it.

Have you been sitting in a dermatologist’s office lately to yet again be shoved another prescription into your hands?

Do you want to get off spironolactone or birth control?

Stop that round of antibiotics?

If it’s not the answer to your problem that you want, you don’t have to choose it.

DM me “gut feeling” if you want to learn how to look inward to heal your acne for good.

ACNE SCARS PART 2- My Top 3 Tips for Healing Acne ACNE SCARS PART 2- My Top 3 Tips for Healing Acne Scars

Ok if you didn’t see Part 1 of this series, go back to that post (DM me and I’ll share with you.) I talk about the most important thing to do BEFORE you treat acne scars.

After any chronic acne has healed, scars and hyperpigmentation/dark spots can be what you focus on wanting to treat to feel fully clear.

Keep reading for a few key tips to help fade acne scars:

💚Know that topical treatments alone are not the best or only solve. Nutrition plays a super important role in healing from the inside out. It’s all about anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich foods like fruits & veggies with lots of vitamin C which aids in collagen production, Vitamin A, & B vitamins for healing wounds.

💚When it comes to fancy procedures like lasers etc, microneedling could be a good option to consider - it’s more gentle and won't disrupt the skin microbiome.

💚For dark spots, pure essential oils can be a game changer. People always underestimate the power of nature but these babies are strong if you’re using a quality product. (DM me if you want to know the only brand I personally trust & would put on my face!) For ex: Helichrysum and frankincense can be V effective.

Red flag 🚩🚩🚩- dermatologists and doctors Red flag 🚩🚩🚩- dermatologists and doctors trying to treat your acne but having very little nutrition training.

(Before you at me, plz know I am not hating on those in the conventional medical system. Just calling out a piece of it that is broken. Keep reading…)

Look, food is medicine. There’s no doubt about it. And if food is medicine, why isn’t it taught at medical schools? On average, most medical schools in the United States teach less than 25 hours of nutrition over four years, and that’s if the school even requires nutrition programming (about 80% of medical schools have no such requirement).

I’m really not trying to hate on docs and derms. It’s not their fault, they truly are just trying to do their job and help you by offering prescriptions as the solution to clear your skin. But sadly the education system is broken and besides skincare or pharmaceutical drugs, they aren’t really trained to understand what else to offer you, ya know?

To successfully heal acne, we need an inside out approach, by addressing the root causes of acne, and all diseases for that matter. And nutrition is typically the first step to healing.

Who’s with me? 💚👇🏻

I don’t know who needs to hear this but if your I don’t know who needs to hear this but if your skin is super broken out right now and you’re feeling down and depressed and frustrated, try to think of it this way…

Acne is truly a blessing in disguise. It alerts you that internal inflammation is going on and helps you avoid worse diagnosis down the road.

Hopefully, it prompts you to dig a little deeper. Become a detective with your health. Ask questions. Get curious about your acne. Why are these red bumps showing up on your face? What is going on beneath the surface of your skin that is causing breakouts over and over again?

Don’t accept it. You deserve answers and you deserve to heal. Don’t just think that it’s up to fate or genetics. I’m telling you, it’s not. You can fix it.

Tell me, how long have you been struggling with acne and getting no answers? 👇

I know exactly how you feel. I’ve been there. Here to support you on every step of this skin journey. It can be a bitch. But you can 100% come out a stronger version of yourself on the other side.💚

ACNE SCARS PART 1- The # 1 thing to do BEFORE you ACNE SCARS PART 1- The # 1 thing to do BEFORE you treat acne scars…

Stop your chronic acne breakouts first.

❗DON’T treat acne scars or hyperpigmentation UNTIL your active acne is healed and isn’t coming back.

Otherwise, it’s a vicious and never ending cycle! You try to help the scars, then you break out again and you pick and let it scab over and then you have another scar to deal with. ugh!

❗If you’re still experiencing chronic AKA persistent and ongoing acne flare ups, it is CRUCIAL you address and heal the acne first.

❗Remember, this is a sign from your body that something internal is off and to avoid greater health issues down the road you need to fix this imbalance sooner than later!

Then, once you are in recovery mode, we can treat the aftermath that is scars. If you need help getting started, DM me.
